Vagaro is a US salon + spa + fitness booking platform. Zellbox adds WhatsApp reminders on top for customers who respond better to WhatsApp than to Vagaro’s built-in SMS.
How it works
- In Vagaro → Settings → Google Calendar Integration → connect.
- In Zellbox → Onboarding step 2 → connect the same Google Calendar.
- Every Vagaro booking now appears on Google Calendar. Zellbox fires WhatsApp reminders at 24 h and 2 h.
What Zellbox adds beyond Vagaro’s built-in reminders
- WhatsApp channel — Vagaro sends SMS + email; WhatsApp is not native. Zellbox adds it as a parallel channel without requiring any change to how Vagaro handles its own reminders.
- Higher delivery rate in WhatsApp-first customer segments. Clients who ignore SMS from unfamiliar numbers still tend to open a WhatsApp message from a saved business contact, which shows up directly in confirmation and reminder rates.
- Signed consent PDFs for aesthetic or wax services. The consent form is captured automatically the first time a client replies, keeping intake paperwork off a front-desk clipboard.
- Two-way replies land in your Zellbox inbox. A reply to reschedule or cancel is visible to staff immediately rather than sitting unread in an SMS thread.
Setup notes for Vagaro salons
One-way sync, so Google Calendar is read-only for this flow
Vagaro’s Google Calendar sync only pushes events from Vagaro to Google, not the other way around — that’s fine for Zellbox, since it only needs to read the calendar to fire reminders, but it means you shouldn’t expect edits made directly in Google Calendar to flow back into Vagaro.
Where this pays off outside the US
Vagaro is primarily a US salon, spa, and fitness platform, but its WhatsApp gap is most visible for salons serving customers outside the US SMS-dominant market — WhatsApp-first clients abroad respond better to a WhatsApp reminder than to Vagaro’s native SMS/email.
