Nookal is an Australian practice-management platform for allied-health clinics (physio, chiro, osteo, podiatry). Zellbox adds WhatsApp reminders on top of Nookal’s built-in SMS.
How it works
- In Nookal → Practitioner Settings → iCal Export → copy the URL.
- In Google Calendar → Other calendars → Add → From URL → paste the iCal URL.
- In Zellbox → Onboarding step 2 → connect the destination Google Calendar.
- Every Nookal appointment fires a WhatsApp reminder at 24 h and 2 h.
What Zellbox adds beyond Nookal’s built-in reminders
- WhatsApp channel for patients who prefer it over SMS. Many allied-health patients already mute or ignore SMS from unknown numbers, but a WhatsApp message from a saved business contact gets read within minutes — that alone cuts a meaningful share of no-shows for clinics that switch.
- Signed consent PDFs on the customer record. Instead of a paper form at check-in, Zellbox captures a signed consent PDF the first time a patient replies, and attaches it permanently to their record so front-desk staff never chase a missing signature again.
- Two-way replies land in your Zellbox inbox. When a patient replies “reschedule” or “can’t make it,” that message shows up in a shared inbox your front desk can triage, rather than disappearing into a one-way SMS gateway with no reply path.

Per-practitioner iCal export
Nookal’s iCal export is generated per practitioner, so a multi-practitioner allied-health clinic needs to subscribe each practitioner’s feed into Google Calendar individually — either one shared calendar or one per practitioner — before connecting to Zellbox.
Checking WhatsApp fit for your patient base
Nookal is popular across Australia and New Zealand for physio, chiro, osteo, and podiatry practices. WhatsApp adoption in ANZ is real but not universal the way it is in LATAM or Southern Europe, so it’s worth a quick check of your own patient base before assuming WhatsApp reminders will outperform Nookal’s native SMS.
