Doctolib is the European healthcare appointment platform. Zellbox layers WhatsApp reminders on top for clinics whose French/German/Italian patients respond better to WhatsApp than to Doctolib’s native SMS.
How it works
- In Doctolib → Practitioner Agenda → Export → copy the .ics subscription URL.
- In Google Calendar → Other calendars → Add → From URL → paste the .ics URL.
- In Zellbox → Onboarding step 2 → connect the destination Google Calendar.
- Doctolib appointments now propagate → Google Calendar → Zellbox WhatsApp reminders (24 h + 2 h).
Alternative for real-time: use Zapier or Make to trigger on new Doctolib appointment → create Google Calendar event.
What Zellbox adds beyond Doctolib’s SMS

Google Calendar refreshes a subscribed .ics feed every few hours, which is fine for a 24h reminder but can miss same-day Doctolib reschedules. If your clinic handles frequent last-minute changes, the Zapier/Make route (new Doctolib appointment → create Google Calendar event) keeps the 2h reminder accurate instead of relying on the .ics poll.
Why region matters here
Doctolib’s footprint spans France, Germany, and Italy, and WhatsApp usage skews differently across those markets. Clinics with a French or Italian patient base tend to see the biggest lift from adding WhatsApp reminders on top of Doctolib’s native SMS, since WhatsApp is the default messaging channel for many patients there.
